When they said "strenuous", they weren't kidding!

This past weekend we hiked Rainbow Falls near Gatlinburg, TN. We were accompanied by Chris and Regina from church as well as a friend of Sonya's from work, Renee. It was a fairly strenuous hike, but well worth the effort. At the end of our hike we ate our packed lunches at the base of an 85 foot waterfall. The weather was also about 70 degrees and sunny, making it a perfect day.

Winter Jam Rocked My Face Off

Sony and I went to Winter Jam and saw Hawk Nelson, The Newsboys, TobyMac and others. It was amazing. Even if it was only TobyMac, it would have been worth the $10 we paid to get in. Check out the official site here...

Toby had DJ Maj turnin' the tables whilst Sharlock Poems was rhymin' and breakdancin'. It was off the hizzie...whoa...where did that come from? Anyways, it was tight. We had a great time with the Farragut youth group peeps that went. If the tour hasn't come to your neck of the woods yet, be on the lookout. It's definitely worth it!

More Travels Than Gulliver

We're finally back in good ol' Knox-Vegas. Three weekends ago we were in sunny Fort Myers, Florida visiting our fam. We had a great time reconnecting and just having fun. We hit a couple of beaches, hunted for shells and ate Moe's (Welcome to MOE's!!!) It was great.

We came back to Knoxville for just long enough to get settled, then we were flying high with Delta out to Park City, Utah. We stayed with a couple of friends from Knoxville and had an excellent time skiing/snowboarding in fresh powder. It was...dare I say...RAD!

Now, it's back to the grind...and I'm sort of glad. There's just nothing like sleeping in your own bed.

Camping at Fall Creek Falls

Sonya and I spent the weekend with some close friends from college, camping in Fall Creek Falls. Aaron and Amy brought their dog, Stella, and we hiked all over the falls and creekbeds. We also celebrated Amy's birthday while we were together. Aaron's dad even showed up and he's there in the middle of the pic. We had tons of fun and it was great to reconnect with them.

Reminiscin'

I'm sitting with Sonya at Midnight Oil in Searcy, AR as I write this. There's flys walking all over the table and climbing my bottle of Coke. We're here in town for Aaron & Amy's wedding, which is actually in Mountain View. We've had the best time so far and been able to re-connect with friends that we haven't seen in quite a while.

Last night was great hanging out with all of my closest guy friends from Harding and I was reminded of how blessed I was and am. It does my heart good to see them all again and the funny thing is that it doesn't seem like it's been very long at all since we've last been together.

I love the memories and time spent here at harding and I know that Sonya and I will cherish them forever. We were so blessed with friends that will last a lifetime and know that we will always keep in touch. There's just something to be said about friends that you share a spiritual bond with that can't compare to other friends that you don't make that connection with. It is truly a blessing from God.
