Help Rootclip Get On DiggNation

I just made a similar post on the Rootclip Blog, but wanted to mention it here for those of you who don't keep up with that.

We have a goal to get on DiggNation and we need your help to do it. If you have a digg.com account, please follow the link below and "digg" that link. If you don't have an account, make one, then digg it!

http://digg.com/movies/Rootclip_Rocks_Encourage_Creativity

If you're not familiar with it, DiggNation is a weekly web show starring Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht. They run down the list of some popular things on digg.com during their show. Our goal is to get the above digg story on their show.

How can you help?
  1. Send a mass-Email out to all of your friends with this link, asking them to digg it.
  2. Use your facebook account to post a link to it, or mention it in some other way.
  3. Send the link out on your Twitter account.
  4. Put it on your own blog, telling people to digg it.
  5. Get creative and use any other networking tool you have to get the word out.
We'll need a pantload of people to digg it, so pass it on and help us out. Thanks everyone!!

Technological Disaster

Ok, so last week I completely ruined my cell phone by accidently submerging it in water (some of you may remember an e-mail from me begging for your phone number). But the awful truth is that not only did I ruin my phone, but myiPod Nano as well! They both were in the console of my Volvo where a leaking water bottle had it's way with them. A sad, sad day.

You see, I LOVED my iPod. It was green, it kept track of all of my runs (thanks to Nike+iPod), it had become a part of me! I was so mad at myself for being so careless. Then, on Monday my wonderful husband announced that he had bought me a MacBook of all things. We have been using his work computer (a MacBook Pro) for a while now, and have been completely won over by it's slick-ness and ease of use. The point of this story is that the MacBook he bought me came with a FREE iPod Nano! Yes! Today, I shall resume my love affair with my Nano. The best part is that he got me another green one...

The only question remains, "should I be trusted with such technology?" My track record isn't very good .

So Long .Mac

Our 60-day free trial of .Mac is up and we're back on Blogspot! "I'm tired of you guys changing your blog every other week!" you may be saying. Well...so are we!!

It's been fun playing with WordPress and iWeb, but there's not much that can compare to the beast that is "Blogger"! Google really has a corner on the blog market. Especially with their integration of Picasa to host images for free and the fact that it ties in so nicely with our Gmail account doesn't hurt either. And the best part about it all is that it doesn't cost a penny! With WordPress we were paying for hosting and .Mac would have cost us about the same at $100 a year.

Well, I apologize for all of the changes, but at least you've had the same URL to visit so you don't have to update your bookmarks! Right? You mean to tell me that you DON'T have http://luchauer.com at the top of your bookmark list?!

We've brought over all of the posts that we had on .Mac, but the comments had to stay *sniff*. For the 2 of you who commented...we're sorry. Heheh! Anyways, thanks for your patience with us...well...with Erik that is!

A Season For Change

Well, since we have recently moved and had to send out new address notifications, changed our Email and had to send word about that, we thought "why not make the tri-fecta complete and change our blog URL?" We've done exactly that.

I'm sure you're already beginning to groan because we're causing you to update more than a Windows operating system, but humor us by visiting our new blog and updating your blogrolls. Here's the new URL (it's pretty simple)...

http://luchauer.com *

*Note: Feel free to keep the "www." if you like, but I'm subscribing to the theory that it has been deprecated.

Getting Past The Exterior

As a devoted Microsoft Windows apostle, I used to preach it's superiority over that of the Mac, it's arch-nemesis. I had devoted my life to learning Windows on the PC and had mastered many intricacies and so-called "features". Me and Dell were like this (crosses fingers with teeth biting lower lip).

It was only this past Monday where I was forced to wage war against my enemy. In an epic battle that would determine the course of my future, I was hypnotized by the sleek and sexy lines of my opponent. But that was no match for me! I grabbed my mouse of a sword and started my attack. I cursed the MacBook Pro after unanswered questions like "why can't you be more like a PC?", "Where the heck did you put that file?!" and "where's the Start button?!!".

And then, all of a sudden, something happened. I was able to look beyond my years of training and see the beauty and creativity in my foe. Sitting there, weak in it's presence, I caressed the Bluetooth, white-on-acrylic keyboard and stroked these keys..."⌘N". I was instantly presented with a gift. A window, which would allow me to navigate through my files and applications. In an instant, I was a changed man. I made an oath, which forged my newly found friendship as I pledged my loyalty to the Mac.

Some of you may shudder at the thought, but let me remind you of another who wasn't partial to only one crowd. He crossed over many barriers to befriend those who were "different". Jesus is His name and, like Him, I am being all-inclusive. May we all be like Jesus, in that we don't discredit or belittle anyone, as we have not walked in their shoes. We are all pretty much the same...made of similar parts, can store data and process things, and even function the same as a whole. We are also entirely useless until we are touched by our creator and brought to life/powered on by His hand. May you look past the external differences of the people you meet and treat them as Jesus would treat you.
