Memorial Day with the Emersons

Wow, we are SO high-tech now. After months and months of ignoring this super-fly site, we are now committed to updating everyone on the events of our life.

We were blessed to have our dear friends Brett, April, and Caden Emerson stay with us this past Monday and Tuesday. We always have so much fun together. Their 7 month-old son, Caden was a little bundle of joy! He's always smiling...(minus the car ride home from Babies R Us!)

We are going to miss them SO much when they leave for Africa this August. We are praying for their safe travel as they go to France first, then on to Africa to help bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the Kabiye people. Keep the Emerson's in your prayers.

Congratulations Are In Order!

We are so proud of Kevin! He graduated with honors from Oakland University this weekend with a degree in Marketing. It was also Amber's birthday on Friday, so we had a great weekend of celebration. It's always so much fun staying with the Antoine's. One of the highlights was having Gary and Linda come down from Up North to spend the day with us. We went to the DIA and then had dinner at a very interesting Vegan restaurant (Gary's FAVORITE!) It was Amber's birthday, so she got to choose :)

When they said "strenuous", they weren't kidding!

This past weekend we hiked Rainbow Falls near Gatlinburg, TN. We were accompanied by Chris and Regina from church as well as a friend of Sonya's from work, Renee. It was a fairly strenuous hike, but well worth the effort. At the end of our hike we ate our packed lunches at the base of an 85 foot waterfall. The weather was also about 70 degrees and sunny, making it a perfect day.

Winter Jam Rocked My Face Off

Sony and I went to Winter Jam and saw Hawk Nelson, The Newsboys, TobyMac and others. It was amazing. Even if it was only TobyMac, it would have been worth the $10 we paid to get in. Check out the official site here...

Toby had DJ Maj turnin' the tables whilst Sharlock Poems was rhymin' and breakdancin'. It was off the hizzie...whoa...where did that come from? Anyways, it was tight. We had a great time with the Farragut youth group peeps that went. If the tour hasn't come to your neck of the woods yet, be on the lookout. It's definitely worth it!

More Travels Than Gulliver

We're finally back in good ol' Knox-Vegas. Three weekends ago we were in sunny Fort Myers, Florida visiting our fam. We had a great time reconnecting and just having fun. We hit a couple of beaches, hunted for shells and ate Moe's (Welcome to MOE's!!!) It was great.

We came back to Knoxville for just long enough to get settled, then we were flying high with Delta out to Park City, Utah. We stayed with a couple of friends from Knoxville and had an excellent time skiing/snowboarding in fresh powder. It was...dare I say...RAD!

Now, it's back to the grind...and I'm sort of glad. There's just nothing like sleeping in your own bed.
