A place for habitation...

This past Saturday, we went to work on a house in association with Habitat for Humanity. It was a really great experience for a number of reasons. The house we were working on belongs to a super spunky little woman named Vicki (pictured above with Erik and Dave). She was so awesome. Throughout the day we talked and laughed with her as we were hammering, filing, sawing, etc. You could just see the gratitude and excitement in her eyes as we worked towards finishing her house. As we started that morning, we all gathered for prayer. I was moved by Vicki's eagerness to thank God for her amazing gift of a new house. She volunteered to lead the prayer, and I was humbled by the authenticity of her words.

Samantha and I learned how to use a coping saw to cope the edges of the trim that went at the base of each wall.

G Love anyone?

So, Erik got us FREE tickets to see G Love a couple of weeks ago. We stood outside in the rain waiting to get in, we were jam-packed into Blue Cats, I was EXHAUSTED from working that day, and I had to work the next day too. He didn't even come on stage until like 10:30pm, but it was all totally worth it! What a great show...
I was reminiscing about the time I saw him at Memphis in May Music Festival whilst in college. I think he wore a baby blue lounge suit for that show. Good times.
Here's us looking completely stoned, with a random guy and his beer in the background!
